Our Audiologists & Staff

Michael O. Webb, M.S., CCC-A, FAAA
Certified Clinical Audiologist / Director

Michael Webb, M.S., "Mike" to most who know him, founded and has directed Sierra Hearing Center since 1983. He is a second-generation hearing healthcare specialist: his mother, Fran Webb, was a well-known hearing aid specialist in the Tucson area for over twenty years. While an undergraduate in Speech & Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona, Mike worked at her office and obtained his Hearing Aid Dispensing license in 1974. He completed his Bachelor's in 1975, followed by his Master's Degree in Clinical Audiology in 1977, also from the U of A. After receiving his national certification in 1978 and working a year for the U of A Hearing Center, he then founded and developed the Audiology and Hearing Aid department at a large Ear-Nose-Throat medical clinic in Tucson.

In 1983, he relocated to Sierra Vista to establish Sierra Hearing Center, the first, and now the largest, private audiology practice in Cochise County. From one room shared with a local dentist, our office has grown to an almost 3000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility in Sierra Vista and a satellite office in Douglas. Mike and staff pursue rigorous continuing education programs each year to stay on the "cutting edge" of diagnostics, technology, and practice management.

Mike and his wife Shelley have six children: five daughters and a son. They reside in Sierra Vista. Shelley and two daughters are actively involved with the office, making it a family affair!

From 1993-1996, Mike & family took a three-year sabbatical (while the practice was run by Keith Plamondon, M.S.) to pursue an audiological mission opportunity in Romania, where he established an audiology clinic at a medical school in the northern "Transylvania" area of the country. That program continues in operation today. He makes bi-annual return trips for follow-up and material support in Romania—as well as keeping important relationships alive and well! He and Jorge Villalvazo have also ministered through hearing care in several Mexican cities over the years.

Mike loves spending time with family, RV-ing, writing, and travel. His family is active in their local church fellowship, Shiloh Christian Center.

Jorge A. Villalvazo, HAD
Hearing Aid Dispenser

Jorge A. Villalvazo is a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD). He has been working with us since February of 2000 and has been licensed since August of 2001. During that time he has become seasoned in the fitting and the programming of the latest in hearing aid technology. He is always ready to offer his friendly service and counseling to provide the best in hearing healthcare.

Originally from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Jorge is fluent in Spanish. He and his wife Kristia have three kids: Elena, Johan and Gabriel. Jorge pastors Centro Cristiano Shiloh, a community church here in Sierra Vista. He is passionate about people and able to serve them well.

Rachel M. Noble, HAD
Hearing Aid Dispenser

Rachel M. Noble is a Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD). Although she started working toward her dispensing license in the fall 2006, her history with Sierra Hearing Center started much earlier as she is one of Michael O. Webb's six children. Rachel started doing odd jobs around the office even before high school and over the years has had many different roles. She hopes that in her role as a Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD) she will continue to grow so that through experience she will help to provide the best experience possible for each patient who walks into our office.

When Rachel is not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and her family. Her interests include photography, music, and just about anything creative.

Carol Schaeffer
Office Manager/Insurance Specialist

As of 2008, Carol Schaeffer has been working with the Sierra Hearing Center for over ten years. Her duties include managing the office, receivables, obtaining authorizations, processing insurance forms, and handling whatever business issues come our way.

Carol lives in Sierra Vista, and has been married to her husband Ed for almost 39 years. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. Her hobbies include camping, landscape quilting, reading, and watching movies with her husband. She considers it a privilege and a blessing to be working for Mike Webb. "I love our wonderful staff. We are committed to providing the best service to our patients."

Shelley Webb
HR Coordinator / Payroll

Shelly Webb is Mike Webb's favorite employee, and his wife, actually. Shelley is responsible for handling the Human Resources details of our growing staff, and, since she handles payroll as well, she is also greatly appreciated by her fellow employees.

Shelley was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and moved to Sierra Vista when she was nine. That makes her practically a native! After receiving her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arizona, she accepted a teaching position in Tucson. It was there that Shelley and Mike met, married, and later moved to Sierra Vista to have a family and establish Sierra Hearing Center.

Shelley's first priority is her family. She has been a stay-at-home mom for her six children, other than working part-time in the office. While the family lived in Romania, she home-schooled the children (four of them at that time). As the children have grown she's begun to take on more involvement in women's ministry and other outreaches through their church.

Besides being Mike's biggest cheerleader, she is also an advisor and confidante to staff members, and helps to bring a warm, organized approach to our office procedures and patient support.

Elizabeth Jones
Receptionist

Elizabeth Jones has been a receptionist at the Sierra Hearing Center since November 2003. She is very friendly, and enjoys interacting with many different people. This is one of her favorite aspects of being a receptionist for SHC and looks forward to meeting you and helping you with your hearing needs!

Elizabeth was born in Washington State and moved to Arizona with her family in 1994. She has an Associates degree in Art from Cochise Community College. There, she met her best friend, Eric Jones, whom she married August 11, 2007. They are excited about working together to start a metal workshop involving both general welding and metal art work. Her passions in life are God, people, and beauty, be it in the arts or nature.

Yolanda Noble
Clerical Assistant

Yolanda Noble (Yoli) works at the Sierra Hearing Center as an Insurance and Clerical Assistant. In her role, she assists in insurance filing and in coordinating patients' hearing aid trial periods. She also does transcription of professional reports to our referral sources. When needed by the front office staff, she receives calls, schedules appointments and checks in patients as well. Her multiple talents make her a great "pitch-hitter".

As of 2008, Yoli lives in Sierra Vista, Arizona with her husband of 23 years Darrell, who is an AMT Instructor and a business owner. She is the mother of three children: Joshua, Michael, and Kristen, and has three grandchildren. Her main interests are serving and loving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and being the best wife, mom, and Nani her Lord has blessed her to be. When not working, Yoli enjoys being a homemaker, spending time with her family, reading, and studying.

Abigail R. Webb
Front Office

Abigail Webb (Abi), one of Mikes 5 daughters, currently works at the Sierra Hearing Center as a front-office receptionist and clerical specialist. This means she does a lot of data entry into our database system to help us bring our patient records up to date. She also pitch hits by seeing patients for periodic hearing aid checks and diagnosing service problems when needed. Abi is a lot of fun, has personality plus! Mike, her dad, calls her a "smile bringer".

In May of 2008, Abi graduated from Shiloh Christian School, and attends Cochise College part-time to pursue an education in general studies. In her free time, Abi enjoys playing sports, music and just about anything in the realm of creativity and art. She is very involved in the young peoples' ministry of her local church.

Amy Berkley
Lab & Shipping

Amy Berkley is our omni-talented multi-tasker. She is in charge of orders, repairs, shipping and receiving, as well as performing six-month checks on patients' hearing aids. She also helps with infection control by overseeing instrument disinfection. Amy is also allowed to nag other staff members if we aren't on the ball with the many details of implementing and tracking all the above minutiae. (And she's good at it!) As her expertise expands, we foresee that her position will as well.

Amy hails from Pennsylvania (Go, Steelers!) and has lived in Sierra Vista since 1992. She has one son, Kristofer. Amy earned two degrees from Cochise college in Arts and Science. She enjoys reading, movies, crafts, and helping others. She is also very involved in her local church congregation.
